Achieving robustness to temperature change of a NIR model for apple soluble solids content

Abstract The temperature difference of fruit itself will affect its near infrared spectrum and the accuracy soluble solids content (SSC) prediction model. To eliminate influence apple on SSC model, a diffuse transmission dynamic online detection device was used to collect spectral data apples at different temperatures, four methods were establish partial least squares correction models: global correction, orthogonal signal processing, generalized weighting external parameter (EPO). results show that has strong apples. 20 ºC model can get satisfactory result when is constant, there be great errors detecting samples other temperatures. effect must corrected more general These all improve with EPO method giving best results; set correlation coefficient 0.947, root mean square error 0.489%, bias 0.009%. research are significance practical application fruits in sorting workshops or orchards.
